Jordan Beinhorn

Jordan Beinhorn began her movement journey on the ice at the age of two. By twelve, she qualified for the U.S. Figure Skating National Championships in Ice Dance, training at the University of Delaware and the Skating Club of Boston under world and Olympic coaches. After competing nationally from 1991–1993, she was invited to train at the Colorado Olympic Training Center following Nationals. At sixteen, though she loved skating, she transitioned back to ballet, expanding her artistry and performance training.

She went on to earn a BFA in Dance and Choreography on scholarship at Point Park College, graduating early cum laude. During this time, she began her Pilates practice at seventeen—a discipline that would become central to her life’s work. At nineteen, Jordan was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, a profound challenge that guided her into somatic healing and the study of sustainable movement practices.

Jordan began teaching Pilates in 2001 and became certified in Classical Pilates in New York City in 2003. She taught for Power Pilates from 2003–2005, later serving as Senior Teacher at the Power Pilates satellite studio in Los Angeles. In 2010, she returned to New York to complete advanced training as a Teacher Trainer for Power Pilates, further deepening her expertise in the classical method. During her years in Los Angeles, she also had the privilege of working privately with first-generation Pilates teacher, the late Jay Grimes.

From 2008–2017, she taught at leading Los Angeles studios, developed continuing education programs, and led international workshops in Denmark, Rome, Sweden, Barcelona, and Brazil. In 2017, Jordan opened her own studio, Pilates on Traction, in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles. Following the birth of her son, she transitioned to teaching exclusively online in 2018, expanding access to Classical Pilates worldwide.

In addition to her Pilates career, Jordan became certified in Breathwork with David Elliott in Los Angeles, adding depth to her integrative approach. In 2025, she completed a graduate program in Seattle with Lori Coleman Brown, one of the world’s leading voices in Classical Pilates education.

Now based on Vancouver Island, BC, Jordan continues to teach, integrating sound healing, energy work, and breathwork into her practice. She weaves together decades of experience in elite athletics, dance, and somatic practices to help students cultivate strength, resilience, and holistic well-being.
